Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This Policy applies to information MadeNear processes when you visit our site, create or use an account, run a store, place an order, contact support, or otherwise use our services. It does not replace a seller's own privacy practices for information that the seller collects independently.

2. Information we collect

• Account and profile information: name, email address, phone number, account role, and the information sellers add to their store profile.
• Order and fulfillment information: items ordered, customizations, order notes, order history, pickup or delivery details, delivery address, and customer contact information.
• Payment and transaction information: payment status, amounts, refunds, and identifiers returned by Square. Payment-card details are entered into Square's payment fields; MadeNear does not store full card numbers.
• Technical and security information: authentication and session data, IP address, user-agent data, device or browser information, and records needed to prevent abuse, investigate incidents, and maintain service security.
• Communications: messages, requests, feedback, and support correspondence you send to us or to a seller through MadeNear.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to operate the service; authenticate users; create and manage stores; process and confirm orders; provide pickup or delivery details to the appropriate seller; process payments and refunds through Square; send transactional messages; provide support; prevent fraud and misuse; comply with legal obligations; and understand and improve the reliability of our services.

We do not use personal information for targeted advertising, and we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. How we share information

We share information only as needed for the purposes above, including with:

• Sellers and customers: a seller receives the customer and order details needed to prepare, fulfill, support, and legally administer an order. Customers receive the seller's storefront, order, and support details.
• Square: to process payments, refunds, and connected-account functions.
• Service providers: providers that host, secure, operate, or send messages for our services, acting under instructions appropriate to their role.
• Legal and safety recipients: when required by law, legal process, or a valid governmental request, or when reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, security, or prevent fraud.
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy or notice of a material change.

5. Cookies and similar storage

MadeNear uses necessary cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, protect accounts, remember a checkout in progress, and make core features work. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels for targeted advertising. You can control some browser storage through your browser settings, but disabling necessary storage may prevent parts of the service from working.

6. Retention and security

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain order and payment records, resolve disputes, meet legal or accounting obligations, enforce our agreements, and protect the service. We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, but no system can be guaranteed completely secure.

7. Your choices and privacy rights

You may update certain account and store information through the service. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information, or to appeal a privacy-rights decision. To make a request, email team@madenear.net from the address associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity and will honor requests subject to applicable law and legitimate retention requirements.

8. Children

MadeNear is not directed to children and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to MadeNear, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

9. Changes and contact

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version and update the date above before material changes take effect.
